What's the best part about Christmas? Without a doubt, families getting together and celebrating the holidays with one another. The more the merrier, right? But that's not what author Anne Fine's main character Ralph feels, when he has to put up with a bunch of relatives who come to stay with their family over Christmas. There's great-aunt Ida who's a bit of a nutter; his cousin Titania with her frilly, fairy outfits; and more weird members of the family, all living together under one roof! There is chaos, there is a lot of noise and Mum is on the verge of a breakdown...more is definitely not merrier in this case!
A funny Christmas tale that is enjoyable in its own way...
